Best chips?
I guess if I had to pick just one kind it'd be Tostitos. But Funyuns and Munchos are good, too.

I'm hungry, which is why I'm thinking about chips. Sadly there are no Tostitos, Funyuns or Munchos in the vending machine downstairs. There are Chili Cheese Fritos, though... hm.

47. You have to be careful with Salt and Vinegar chips in the US
Potato chip flavorings are generally powders they sprinkle the hot chips with. Vinegar is not a powder, so they use a product called sodium diacetate, which is kind of a powdered vinegar. It's not as good as regular liquid vinegar, though--to me it's got a weird sour non-vinegary taste. Cape Cod uses real vinegar, so it's better.

I ran across a Hawaiian Sweet Maui Onion Potato Chips once at World Market that was quite nice.

And for the more affordable brands, Zapps is it. Their Sour Cream and Creole Onion is perfect.
