Remember, at 8pm, they'll replay Ben's episode, one of the top 5 episodes of the whole series.

Here's a youtube clip of Ben's confession and redemption: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFrYMO0jhGs

Whoa, just had a reverse "Life on Mars" moment there.

21. Not suprised that he would be a cop in the 'flash sideways'
he's using his career to find the asshole conman who was responsible for the murder/suicide of his parents.

13. Would Daniel be alive in this timeline?
And how could Daniel have been so tragically in love with her? In all his flashbacks it's clear that he was busy with his experiments or totally nuts right up to the time Widmore hired him to join the freighter crew. So he knew Charlotte all of two weeks, during which he's a semi-mumbling idiot, and yet by the time they arrive at the island he's head over heels for her?

That's the first time I've ever found a plot hole in LOST, by the way. Although there are also some inconsistencies between what Rousseau says about her ship's sinking in the first season and what they showed with Jin when he time tripped over them.

By the way, I was expecting Jin's flash sideways this week (remember Sayyid finding him in the walk in freezer?), but they're gonna make us wait at least two more weeks before we get down to that.

10. Which Widmore is this?
Is this the original timeline Widmore or the flash sideways timeline Widmore? I know he was originally an Other (in either timeline) but which one is this?

12. We haven't seen a flash sideways Widmore.
With the island all blowed up, he's not important to the characters' lives. This is takes-a-sub-to-the-island-to-kill-even-more-crash-survivors Widmore. What's up with that, anyway? I can understand him wanting to kill the Oceanic survivors--he'd have to assume that Ben won them over to the Others' side. But the Ajira survivors just got there--why kill them? Unless he's assuming that they're all Jacob's operatives.

By the way, I'm convinced Widmore is a distraction. The main war is between good and evil, Jacob and Smokey. Widmore is willing to fight both of them so that he can exploit the island commercially. But he's not MIB-level evil, just ruthlessly greedy. That's why the producers of the show are unwilling to show us the scene where he boned Sun Paik Kwon. But you know he totally did her.

Lost doesn't put a lot of effort into telling straightforward story lines.

16. I just rewatched the episode where Ben snuck into Widmore's house
It was in the beginning of season four, but even then Ben and Widmore were shaping up to have a showdown over the MIB and Jacob.

I don't think Widmore's a distraction, but he's a part of what's going down.

27. Maybe. But I think Ben & Charles are fighting over the island.
I don't think even they really appreciate what Smokey is. After all, Ben kept saying he served Jacob, but was able to call on Smokey as a "security device" when the Freighter mercs attacked in season 4. That doesn't seem like someone picking sides. It seems like someone who was screwing around with powers he didn't understand.

Kind of like me trying to figure out what's going on behind this whole series.

20. I have a theory about the end of the show
I cross posted this in the Sawyer Lost thread

I think Sawyer will be the one to stay on the island and maintain the imprisonment of Smokey? Why?

Because

1. He's a cop

2. He is always sacrificing himself for others

3. His alternate reality story line did not have the neat redemption resolution that most everyone else had.

I also think there's a chance Kate may stay with him. Remember those Adam and Eve bones in the cave?

But what I want to know is will we see Juliet again (except on V)???

She has to play a part in these Flash Sideways.

And where is Daniel Faraday?? I miss his character. He should be in the Flash Sideways somewhere.

24. Here's what I dont understand about Adam and Eve
Unless they go back in time, how can the skeletons be any of the Losties? They exist currently in the cave. If they did in the regular 2007 timeline some time, how in the world do they become those skeletons?

31. Oh, I know how they became the skeletons
They died.

Heh. When the bomb went off, they weren't zapped back to 2007 like Jin, Kate, Hurley, Jack, Sayyid, Miles, Juliette, & Sawyer. Why not? I dunno, maybe "the island just knew" they, like the rest of the Dharma Initiative, belonged there in that timeline. So Rose & Bernard died just a few years after we last saw them in 1977. So when Jack saw them in 2004, he could say (as he did) "these bodies have been dead for 30 to 40 years." He's off a bit, but then he's not a forensicist. And I can imagine bodies decaying a bit faster in a tropic location (particularly a time traveling tropical location.

I know normally the island's special physics tends to protect body's defense & rejuvenation systems, so Rose and Bernard should have lived longer (they were only about 60 when the plane crashed). There's other problems: namely the fact that bodies not buried on the island are subject to being possessed by the Smoke Monster. Why didn't at least one of them make sure the other was buried insted of being left out in the cave to be possessed (the same cave that Smokey got Christian Shepard's body from)? Unless those black and white stones they had on their bodies gave them some sort of protection after death. I don't think that's a plot hole you can just handwave away by saying "the bomb changed everything."

Frankly, the whole "a-bomb blows us back to the present" is the weak link in the show's chain of causality. If blowing up the pre-constructed hatch changed the past, then the sideways timeline has a certain logic to it, even if it makes "The Incident" the uncaused causation (another term for God) of the plane not crashing. But the "island time" makes no sense. If the bomb changed the past, the flash sideways makes sense. But if the bomb didn't change the past, then all the Losties caught in 1977 should be dead.

Although the timeline still doesn't make sense -

But - if Kate and Sawyer to end up replacing Jacob, and they become immortal - then maybe they no longer need their bodies...

Nah.

23. Sawyer had sex during the sting operation?
Seriously? Did teenage boys write that scene??

Random thoughts....

I want to know more about smoke monster's crazy mom and why Widmore decided to land his sub on Hydra island instead of the bigger island.

I wonder if Miles has his speaking to dead peeps gift in the side flash. I thought it was interesting that both him and Sawyer were both cops and partners in the side flash...just like when they were on the Dharma security team in the 70's.

Can someone PLEASE ask Claire why she disappeared and abandoned her baby in the jungle in the first place? This is the question I would be screaming at ferrel Claire if she attacked me for raising her son safely off the island instead of letting him die all alone on the island. Everyone knows the first 3 years of raising kids are hard as hell too so it's not like this was an easy task for Kate...and as a single mom too. Shame on you crazy Claire.

Did anyone else think the look that Sawyer gave Kate when he caught her in the side flash was overly creepy? Speaking of those two in the sideways flash, why would cop Sawyer help fugitive Kate escape a federal agent in the airport?

OH!!!! And Charlie's brother was at the police station!!! :wow:

30. Actually, yes, if you've seem Damon & Carlton's podcasts, they're quite giddily immature.
I wonder if the talk about Smokey's crazy mom was just Locke's personality imposing itself now that the MIB is more or less stuck in Locke's form. Of course Smokey could have a crazy mother too (most Egyptian dieties did) but it sure seemed like Locke talking (remember that Smokey does know what Locke's last thoughts were before he died. He's not just taking his external appearance).

Claire went nuts when the freighter mercs were shooting up the island in 2004. That's probably when the MIB possessed her. She didn't just go crazy, the monster creeped inside her and made her abandon the child. For all we know, part of Smokey's plan after getting off the island is to kill or possess Aaron. Jacob... Aaron... I'm seeing a pattern here.

I missed Charlie's brother. Since Charlie got busted on the plane after leaving Sydney, it makes a bit of sense. Charlie doesn't have anybody else in his life back in 2004 since he wasn't able to detox on the island.
