Who are you picking to win the NCAA tournament?
I have Kansas, Villanova, Pitt, and Kentucky in the final four.

1. The team that scores the most points in the championship game
And I've never been wrong!

I haven't looked over the bracket yet, but my beloved Pac-10 is going out very early.

8. I went to San Diego State for my undergrad. They sucked while I was there and now they get in.
Now I've been accepted to UCLA for my masters and they don't make it.

My basketball karma is all effed up.

3. It'll be KY or Kansas.
But if it's KY, it'll be wiped off the official records in a few years when they get busted for pay-for-play.

5. Duke, because they stand as good a chance as everyone else
especially according to serious statisticians such as Ken Pomeroy and Sagarin.

I have Georgetown and Duke in the final in one of my brackets, and Kansas and Duke in the other.

Duke has won the whole thing 3 times, including times (1991 and 2001) when everyone else said they wouldn't be able to beat the mighty teams (UNLV in 1991 comes to mind, which at the team had a 45-0 winning streak and was considered unbeatable).

They have as good a chance as everyone else out there, especially if my dear Jon Scheyer wakes up from his recent slumber.

But whatever happens, happens. It will be an interesting tournament, because there is so much parity this year. Next year, Duke comes in with a stacked recruiting class, Seth Curry and, if he stays, Kyle Singler.

21. The only reason I'm hesitant to say Duke and no one else...
is Coach K doesn't believe in recruiting a bench.

I know they'll make the Elite Eight and they'll probably reach the Final Four...whether they win those last two games depends on the depth of the other teams. If Duke goes up against a school with a deep bench, they're screwed--the other side can rotate players in and out and keep their guys fresh. If Duke's facing another school with a shallow bench, Duke gets their fourth national championship.

7. Syracuse
I'm rooting against a Kansas-Kentucky final so my picks reflect that. I'll probably end up doing horrible in my bracket.

11. You do know that Coach "K" is a big-time (R), right?
I gave Wilmy a pass on that 'cause she actually went there, but jeez.

18. Allow me, as a UNC alum, to say a few words in defense of Coach K
Yes, he's a Republican. Who knows why. However, some Republicans can be decent people and Coach K is one of them. Read this lengthy article from ESPN about him, before you're so quick to judge people based on traits that in the grand scheme of things don't matter that much:

ps: He's not as big a Repub as Dean Smith was as a Dem. Dean Smith made a difference. Countless good Democratic office holders owe their career to support from Dean.

I can't go around hating every damned 'Puke out there, I settle for not being friends with any of them and let it go at that.

16. West Virginia!
I know they're not the favorites on too many (if any) brackets, but i have faith in our ability to come out ahead in clutch situations.

...and Da'Sean Butler has the magic touch.

Syracuse against Georgetown, Duke against Washington. Syracuse and Duke in the title game, and Duke as national champion. (Yes, even though the Orange has more depth.)

He correctly called UNC as the Nat'l champs last year.

26. I hope everyone with their personal picks goes back and looks at...
...THIS THREAD! Like in April or May.

Because most all of you will be disappointed and losers once it is over:-)

Talk is cheap as are local preferences. Have at it. make shit up. Pretend your opinions matter then watch and complain (except for the lone fans of the one team that wins - which I consider the best most competitive championship tournament)!

They'll be gone in the first round, I'm guessing.

Other than that, I have no clue.

But I love watching me some March Madness.
