Illinois budget mess resulting in my work hours being cut as of July 1
The Illinois state budget is such a mess, my employer (funded by state grants) is cutting the work week back from 40 hours a week to 37.5. Pay is therefore likewise being cut by 2.5 hours/week worth.

I was having trouble making it on my salary at 40 hours/week. Having a pay cut means I'll have to get a part-time job (or potentially a new full-time job if something comes along).

My wife currently has a temporary job, but that won't last beyond a few months.

We really need a solution to the budget mess - services are being cut across the state.

We're actually lucky where I work, some other offices across the state have had to cut a number of jobs. So far, that's not happening to us. But if things don't improve, it will.
