Weirdest show ever on PBS! The Natural Hist of the Chicken!

Where do I start?!!! Granted, I didn't see it from the beginning, but I came in on the part with this weird red-headed lady that had a chicken as a pet. She shampooed and blow dried it's feathers! Ever so gingerly and gently, pampering the heck out if it! Then she demonstrated how she had a little "diaper" on it. WHEW! My mouth dropped to the floor.

My mouth continued to stay on the floor, when the show proceeded with a true story of a farmer who had a chicken who happened to remain living after being beheaded! They fed it with an eyedropper, and used the eyedropper to clear out mucous at times. The farmer and his wife took this undead chicken on all the freak show circuits, making a little bit of money. But alas, one time they forgot the eyedropper somewhere and the chicken eventually met his fate.

The show did finally come back to normalcy with a heartwarming story of a farmer's reflections of an odd chicken named Liza, an exotic, white, silky Japanese breed, and how he helped her become a mother by building her own hen house away from the others and her protective heroic actions shielding her chicks from a swooping chickenhawk!

Anyway-point is-it was weird, but good! Check it out!

years. We have chickens so thought it would be interesting. It was just plain stupid. The title was very misleading.

ETA: We only tuned in the second time because we had forgotten it really wasn't a documentary, just a lot of goofy shit.

7. The nuttiest PBS show I have ever seen was the documentary about competing in ferrett shows

kinda like a dog show, but ferretts. I thought it was a comedy movie, like "best in show", but it's a documentary, and a lady sings a song about her ferrett at the end of the movie, "oh ferrett oh ferrett".....my kid and I watched the show, at the end just looked at each other like "WTF was THAT?!" :)
