My poem in honor of........Spring...Not what you expect... |
|
Sacrifice
Put your heart on the altar
let the gods slash
there will be blood from
that purity
your love will flow
down
renew the planet
in the spring
time to sacrifice
yourself

6. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six! |
|
Really?
How can you say that?
I mean, it's just a riff on spring, sacrificial lambs (or whatever) and I just dashed it off earlier tonight.
I hardly did any editing!
This is crazyness!
Still.....
Thank you.

7. I like that it taps into the visceral side of Spring. |
|
It ain't all lambs and chicks. Unless you count mint jelly and deviled eggs, lol.

Yeah, I meant it to tap into that side of Spring...
Thank you for being able to see that!
I'm not all about lambs and chicks either...

8. I'm still digesting this one |
|
you posted it at an interesting time in my life, so I can't be objective about it...
but thank you for posting it.
Sorry, don't mean to be cryptic.

Ah, no worries...
You can be as subjective as you like with me, you know...
And cryptic is OK too...
I appreciate your honest comments!

Let's see....what sparked this? I was just feeling a bit snarky and tomorrow's the solstice...
So I decided to let the snark out!
That was pretty much it.
Now...your turn: What is redrum?
Thanks for your comments!

Well....I pay attention to what's going on inside my head...
And I observe my world closely, at least some of the time...
I always did this, but since I've been writing poetry, I do it more.
It's fun, too...
Thanks, sweetie!

25. My Dear CaliforniaPeggy |
|
. ... I'm always impressed by the power contained in your minimalism. It's sometimes like a gentle poke in the chest by a benevolent 100-pound finger. . I was realy struck by the physical sense of movement in this one (although that's a characteristic of all the poetry I've read by you so far). . I've always preferred minimalist poetry... though especially so now that I have the attention span of a peapod. . I believe someone with your talent does NOT simply "dash one off" -- the essence of that poem has been bubbling and squeaking around in your sub/unconscious, perhaps for decades. . It IS extremely gratifying when a poem like this finally coalesces and SPRINGS forth "instantly" and "effortlessly". . For almost all of us -- it is an all-too-rare little gift from our muses. . Thank you once again for giving us another perspective to help us "see" what it is that's going on around us. .
