However once in awhile I run into an obvious troll that's hard to forget. I can't think of everything he's said but this is a thread I remember well--post #12 http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7004638 The thing with that was that wasn't even him at his worst.

I kept wondering why he posted on DU to begin with. Very authoritarian type of person.
Seems his contributions to a thread on Lt. Dan Choi's arrest finally broke his neck.

I'm sure it was his overall behavior here, however I noticed in this thread you see replies to deleted messages that were addressed to vadawg-- http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7951717#7952163Could be that one too.

Never mind the topic - he pissed me off. And he wouldn't let go, even when poster after poster dismantled his talking points. Kept coming back, and coming back...

|
I think I only engaged him twice and afterwords I just figured, why bother? He would obfuscate the issue and move the goalposts if a talking point wasn't working out and never quit. Ugh I just reminded what one of the discussions we got into. He favored employers doing credit checks to screen employees on the idea that someone with bad credit was more likely to commit embezzlement. :eyes:

15. That would be my guess... |
|
. ... even more likely, the nephew or cousin or son of a jail guard. . That was the voice of the well-educated talk radio audience member. . If they were to have shown him the "raw numbers" (what are the odds he had a section of a high school class devoted to statistics?), he'd be off on a different path of denial. . Take the forementioned "well" with a kilo or two of salt (and/or only in reference to the School of the Rightwing Airwaves). .

. ... I wonder if they made him keep his bullet in his pocket. . My guess is still wannabe or relative of someone in law enforcement/corrections. . But you would know much better from his knowledge in the LE discussions you had. .

|
and I tend to take someone at her/his word for the sake of the discussion except when it's obvious that the person doesn't know shit from shinola about the topic. Can't say that about vadawg but if he is a LEO I'd hate to be in his jurisdiction.

Theres still one or two more around though. I don't trust them one bit.
They are always defending cops accused of police brutality and sticking up for incidents where rights are violated. Unless its a whole thread about some cop who beat the crap out of an old lady or tazed some kid. They stay away from those.

I posted a thread about an officer roughing up a councilman(who happened to have 20 years exp. in LE) waiting for him to show up(I only remember seeing him during night time which is when he posted it) but he didn't. I did a search and clicked his profile and started dancing.

but oddly it wasn't the cop threads that kind of made me wonder it was the big long deal he got into about pulling his kids from school when the Pres. gave his education speech to the kids.

25. MiddleFingerMomMom, born 1920, was fairly mainstream... |
|
. ... moderate politically brainwashed conservative Catholic so, without ever actually knowing her politics about the subject (suspect she was strongly anti-abortion), I give her HUGE creds for the fact that the only time she allowed me to skip school was when the school had a mandatory field trip to the state capital to "show support" for pro-life issues. . "That's just not American," she said. . She became much more realistically politically aware as she got along in years. And resentful towards those who had fed her all that slop. . I was quite proud of her. . .

I posted a topic during that whole thing where I said McCain visited my high school but he didn't speak to us(freshman at the time), only Seniors so I pointed that the right (people that likely voted for McCain) can't say anything about Obama indoctrinating our children and the fact JM only spoke to Seniors made me think he was trying to get soon-to-be voters on his side. Anyways vadawg started that pulling kids out of school nonsense.

I only keep anyone on ignore for about two weeks. I clear "The List" out and then fill it back up again. He'd been on "The List" pretty regularly.
To all who might miss him, I say, not to fret, I'm sure he'll be re-registered under a new ame very soon!

33. I actually got to know vadawg a bit over the years... |
|
He was way to the right of me (and nearly every DUer) but when it came to non-police matters, he was a pretty reliable liberal. He was funny about some things though. It was as if he were a flaming liberal with prominent conservative stripes, as it were. Knowing where he came from, as I do, it's eminently understandable, but to the casual observer, his politics would be puzzling, to say the least.
I'll miss him, and I'll miss my arguments with him. He always had a good response, more often inflammatory than not, but he always had me challenging my beliefs, which I think is a valuable thing.
Yol Bolsun, vadawg. May you return in some less grating guise at some future juncture.
