Happy Vernal Equinox
Today the sun rises due east and sets due west. That's true everywhere except at the north and south poles, where the sun skims along the horizon.

I was up at sunrise today. If I had stood in the middle of a street that runs east/west, and if the sky had been clear, I would have seen the sun rise in the middle of the street. Alas, it was foggy, and I couldn't see the sun at all.

4. I'll drink to that,
even though 1:32 PM EDT is the same as 10:32 AM PDT, which is kind of early to start drinking.

5. That's a great idea.
You might want to pour a libation for the storm god, just in case. ;)

3. He said "vernal".
.
Fog ruining the sunrise, you might've REALLY wanted to see. Know the feeling.
.
Only time I've visited the California coast was to my sister's. They lived in the
hills overlooking the ocean -- as my sister described it, "about $2 million back
from the beach".
.
Catalina Island in full view from her back balconies.
.
I had enjoyed MANY sunrises over the Atlantic, but never a sunset over the Pacific.
Had been looking forward to that as one of the high points of my visit.
.
Clouded up an hour before I got there.
.
Cleared up an hour after I left -- three days later.

6. Better luck next time.
Speaking of east and west ... our first house was in a development called "Sunset East".

We had a "Waste King" oven in that house.

The house was in a valley surrounded by hills; so we never really saw a proper sunrise or sunset.

8. I prefer the vaginal equinox
Equal parts of vagina and vagina. Hell, that's the way it is every night. Never mind.
