Boy, do I have a treat for you... Iron Butterfly...
.
... is known primarily as a one-hit wonder, but the guitar team
of Pinera/Rhino did some extremely impressive work -- both with
Iron Butterfly and fronting another band as Pinera/Rhino.
.
This tune (in two parts -- I think different versions run from
15-20 minutes long) along with Dark Side of the Moon, was one
of the albums I would put on my turntable (it's a thing that
went round-and-round-and-round kids) as a lullabye late at night.
.
Unbelieveable epic piece -- MUCH more interesting than the hit
they're known for. Many abrupt changes and about six minutes
into Part 2, Mike Pinera goes into some guitar/voicetube work
Peter Frampton PLUS George Benson could not equal.
.
I've included both links, although Part 2 is the second option
on the youtube player once Part 1 is finished.

The bassist's name Doug Ingle seems familiar -- anyone recognize
it and did he move on to something else noteworthy?
