Good friends of ours live in Kazakhstan, and today is their new year, celebrated during the Babylonian month of Nissanu. Pretty cool. :) Springtime seems like a great time for a new year celebration...

Kazakhstan’s Kazak New Year: March 22, 2010
Celebrated in the month of Nissanu (Babylonian Year), Kazakhstan celebrates Nauryz Meyramy or Kazak New Year during the vernal equinox (spring). The month of Nissanu falls between the month of March and April.

She got outside Saturday and enjoyed a few minutes outside while I cooked some chicken on the grill. Of course her brother, Roosevelt, also slipped out and decided to roll in all of the dirt that had accumulated on the porch. Our daughter gave him a bath/shower later. HE WAS FILTHY!
There was no grass to eat, so Sonia got bored and went back in.
