21. Then how do you know it's tripe? You might like it, Sam I Am. |
|
Not that I've ever watched it, either, aside from random moments when it was on somewhere I happened to be passing. Looked okay from the few minutes I saw scattered over however many years it was on. Not something I'd watch, but it looked better than a lot of other shows I don't watch, either. :)

Unfortunately, some DUers are as well.

And then there was that time Jack Bauer let a nuke go off in the desert. What a freakin loser.

I loved that first season. Well, most of it. Since I watch tv shows on dvd, the plausibility of 24 gets stretched beyond the limit. When the bad guys are omniscient and show up at every turn along the way, that 17th time in 24 hours, I just had to bust out laughing. Couldn't take it seriously anymore until Jack's wife got killed. That was a good ending. Then I tried to watch the second season, but the whole thing became laughable.

14. Laughable throughout its run, but very watchable in a popcorn kind of way. |
|
The first half of that first season was unlike anything ever put on TV before.

17. Gee, I guess that puts the kibosh on the contention that we're a "Center-Right" Country. |
|
I watched the first and second season, but after so many dark-skinned and Muslim villains, I started to smell a rat. Then I found out it was created by Joel Surnow, who's a big winger and FOX consultant. He gave us that FABULOUS show, the 1/2 hour News Hour (must I post the sarcasm icon???) that tanked even on Faux News. Sorry, that destroyed 24 for me. And then the comparisons with validating torture and waterboarding was the final nail in the coffin.

But the show was actually a lot better than it's commonly lampooned to be.
And even if it's been canceled, it's enjoyed a longer run than Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, or any series in the Star Trek franchise.

Now you never know where Keiffer will pop up next. With "24" at least you could avoid him.
Although if he goes back to playing disturbed narcissistic sadists (as bad guys instead of good guys, I mean), the world might return to balance.
