Not a poll question: your most favorite unpopular film?
Come on, fess up. There must be some movie out there that you really, really like, even though you know that it's not very good, and even if you kind of regret liking it.

I'll admit to liking Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, just to start the ball rolling.

Yeah, Stallone sucks in a huge way, but I loved this movie. If Tim Curry hadn't been in it, this would not be my answer.

4. I never regret liking anything I like, but "In The Electric Mist" might fit the bill
It's a poorly made movie of a novel I like. The scriptwriting is horrible, they take random scenes from the book that don't really tell a cohesive story (like LoTR :) ), they underuse great actors like Tommy Lee Jones and John Goodman, and they take all the brilliant dialogue of the movie and rewrite it to blandness, or to irrelevance by removing the context of the dialogue. They even take Budy Guy, who is maybe one of the top five blues guitarists to ever live, and give him an acting roll and almost no music time. He can't act worth a damn, btw.

And I own a copy and watch the damn thing once a month, anyway. Maybe I'm just homesick for bayous, I don't know.

19. LOL. I liked his character and his nihilistic and laconic view of the world.
When warned that his non-participation will result in the defeat of Greece: "Someone has to lose."

Plus I liked the conflict between rationality and religion. One way to criticize religion safely is to use an extinct religion. Every time Priam relies on the gods, he gets fucked.

18. Well how about that.
I haven't seen it in years, but I had no idea that it was a Ron Howard film. I knew that Lucas was very vocal in his support of it, though, so I sort of assumed that he'd directed it.

I recall one of Lucas' quite brilliant comments about it at the time, which I paraphrase here:
My story is criticized for being derivative, while Rambo is praised for "reworking the genre."

Lucas was specifically referring to the baby-in-a-basket scene, as well as others, for which his story was fairly harshly criticized.

Still, for my money, Willow is about the best of the standalone fantasy films of the 70s, 80s, or 90s. That Eborsisk (a name I didn't know until your post) was awesome!

31. Ron Howard sort of co-directed it with Lucas

He gave Lucas a lot of creative say, like Spielberg did with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Howard said he would never do that again.
The Eborsisk ranks up there as one of Phil Tippet's best pre-CG animation scenes. It was worth the price of admission for me. :)

I dug Remo Williams btw. I can dodge bullets now because of Chiun.

It's been a secret for years!

I'm just so happy to know someone else knows this film exists!

"And even if we win, if we win, HAH! Even if we win! Even if we play so far above our heads that our noses bleed for a week to ten days; even if God in Heaven above comes down and points his hand at our side of the field; even if every man woman and child held hands together and prayed for us to win, it just wouldn't matter because all the really good looking girls would still go out with the guys from Mohawk because they've got all the money! It just doesn't matter if we win or we lose. IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!"

Even though it wasn't strictly by the book, I really liked Troy. I also liked "Kingdom of Heaven". I am a fencer and a history buff and anything that makes people more aware of swordsmanship and history or ancient literature is a good thing to me. I also liked "Valkyrie" with Tom Cruise.

26. I just watched Clash of the Titans last night
Turner Classic Movies ran it @ 10:00PM.

Sure, the stop motion effects look very dated, but considered with in its genre and its contemporaries, it stands up quite well. For my money, it's leaps and bounds better than anything cast in the Hercules or Zena mold, and it's greatly superior to any of NBC's various mytho-fantasy epics.

30. IIRC, Willow included the first cinematic use of digital morphing
Near the end, when Willow's trying to turn the good enchantress back into a human, he sends her through a series of transformations. The sequence used the now-primitive but then-amazing morphing technique, which I found tremendously cool.
