How long should you wait for an email from a 'friend'
For a business transaction we are accustomed to the US mule taking 10 days
Most e-business transactions take place withing 24 to 36 hrs.
What is the etiquette in a world of twitter, facebook, and hotmail?

1. Maybe a week
After two, unless they have something critical going on or they are on vacation, it's pretty obvious they aren't a close friend IMHO.

Good luck with that.

3. Interesting, sort of the 'business' model
I suppose commity between self, customers, or friends do have similar motivations.

2. It depends on the friend and the context
I've gone through spells with some friends where I might email them daily, and then we lapse, and a year or two later we can pick up again where we left off.
