Worst film, video, short, etc. you had to watch in School?
I'm talking about your entire educational career. One movie that sticks out for me is "The Buttercream Gang". We watched a lot of stuff on laserdiscs(didn't know anyone who had a laserdisc player besides the school) and stuff the teacher taped off PBS. I also remember watching a sex-ed film from what I think was the 70s in 1995 (it was on tape). Never watched anything on a film projector unless filmstrips count. Had a few gen-x teachers who showed Schoolhouse Rock shorts.

Truly disturbing to a child. Actually, I think we watched that several times throughout elementary school.

8. Elementary School? What the hell? That's a very *adult* story about the
perils of not questioning tradition- but it's too much for children.

I was definitely in elementary school when we saw that one - can't remember the grade - 4th maybe?
Way too disturbing...I still don't like to think about it.

10. I liked The Buttercream Gang. Probably wouldn't now but...
I hated the one that showed you how to check for testicular cancer, then the teacher passed around a set of rubber cancer balls. Weird. I guess it was a good learning experience but weird. We didn't have sex-ed in my school. When they finally brought it in it was only for 10th grader and I was in 11th, and you had to have a parents signature to attend. I forged a few kids parents signatures the day before. Guys who were either to embarrassed to ask their parents or they said no brought in something with their parents signature on it and I copied it to the form, and for no fee, I was doing my good for the people.

27. That was bad. My daughter took driver's ed recently and there were
no accident movies at all. Not sure if it's better to show kids the gore or avoid it all together.

22. I am an old guy. In the 50s we saw lots of film strips involving hiding
under you desks and covering your head while the AMERICANS and the ROOSKIES killed everyone else.
I was never sure whether to laugh or cry hysterically.

I don't remember anything, but then I'm older than dirt when it comes to my school years. Seems I suffer from something called "IcantrememberbecauseIforgotitis" which only affects those of us who sustained heavy brain damage at the hands of al-qaida, splinter-cell traitors, conveniently called teachers.

29. Altho, strictly for the fun of it
there is a "school" type film built into the movie, Johnny Dangerously, where Johnny has to keep his younger brother on track, who wants to leave school and have sex with his girlfriend (it is supposed to be in the 30's). The younger brother comes over and Johnny plays "Your Testicles and You." Quite entertaining, actually! (NOT!)

31. In college we watched "The Thief, His Wife, The Cook, and The Lover" (or whatever it was called)
But here's the thing....it was an evening class, and we were free to bring in food to eat during class while we watched it.

And, well, the ending scene of that movie sort of killed my appetite for several days. I'm not kidding....
