Hi. My name is William, and I am addicted to Law & Order
Edited on Wed Mar-31-10 05:02 PM by WilliamPitt
Regular Law & Order is the best. I have my DVR set to record it whenever it shows up on any channel, at any time.

I am also an addict of Special Victims, also slightly less so (call it coke to the crack).

I am also an addict of Criminal Intent, although less so again (call it weed to the coke).

I don't think any support group can help me. If any of those shows are on, well...I'm watching.

Am I alone?

1. I like Anthony Anderson and The other guy
My favorite L&O cops were Briscoe and Green. Followed by Fontanna and Green. I don't know why they got rid of Denis Farina he was great.

13. I agree, Denis played the character with a bit of
an edge, I can't figure out why he was replaced. A couple of shows had Farina paired with the guy from the Sapranos (name escapes me at the moment), which I thought was interesting in a good way.

I too am addicted to L&O. Last night's CI kicked ass! Can't wait to see what will happen to Goran this season.
I agree that original is still the best, but SVU has great story lines.

3. I am Midlo and I am addicted to NCIS
and now Criminal Minds.

The fact that I have all the Law and Order SVU DVDs should probably be addressed as well.

(Psst. Will. Did you know USANetwork shows L and O marathons, mostly on Tuesdays?

You're welcome.

'Oh, good. Three more episodes.'

My own family has noticed, and commented, frequently I might add, but I don't care.

Gibbs rocks.

5. You are not alone.
I watch them all. Some episodes I have seen 6 or 7 times. I am a total Law and Order junkie. Love all the various incarnations. I also love that I can find an episode at any hour of the day or night, important for an insomniac like myself.

I have walked by the crew in NYC several times while they were filming. It is always so cool to see them when you round a corner. Have never seen any cast members though, alas. I also have to admit being in love/lust with half the cast!

45. GREAT guy, did a LOT of acting (and singing and dancing, too)
Saw him few days ago in L+O wherein the gang watched one of their perps being injected (death penalty.) Show was about the rest of the gang's day, which was kind of traumatic for them all. He cried at the end.

10. I watch them too, although CI was my drug back when I hadn't seen all the Bobby episodes. Love
the other two as well. Really get a kick out of the earliest L&Os with Chris Noth too.

CSI (the original), Cold Case, and House round out the rest of my addiction for suspenseful dramas. (I guess they ended NUMB3ERS)

He will stop his life for whatever periods of time the show is on, and it seems to be on some channel, at some time, all the time.

I am Criminal Minds addict myself, but I'll deny it every time.

12. Love Law & Order, the original series
I think the current cast is great, and ranks right up there.

I also like Criminal Intent, but get a little tired of SVU, its seems like they try and make each crime worse than the last one.

I really enjoy old school crime mysteries (not the SVU stuff, too heart wrenching).

25. Original L&O is more hard boiled
The homicide detectives can come across the most grisly murder ever and they don't even raise an eyebrow save for Lenny making some random sarcastic comment. Benson and Stabler have panic attacks.

16. I thought against mentioning this several times
but I felt like I need to even though this is a silly lounge thread. :)

Cocaine is cocaine whether it's hydrochloride(salt form) or converted to crack by combining the powder form with heat and baking soda. The physiological and psychoactive effects are the same, the only difference is that smoking delivers the cocaine to the brain faster. It's not any more addictive.

The only reason why I bring this is up is there is so many myths that claim "crack" is something that "powder" isn't that's used to justify these 1:100 disparities in mandatory minimum sentences for "crack" vs "powder".

30. Most of my addictions
(except for junk food) are TV shows, both past and present. I'm not ashamed to admit it, and I have savant-like recall of actors, shows, and more going back to the 60s. So, you see, you are not alone--at all. Some of our addictions are fun. :)

PS: Except for reality shows. I despise reality programming, and won't watch any of it, if I can help it.

I also watch SVU and CI whenever they're on.

It's nice to know you'll be watching too, Will. It's kind of like when I was kid at Brownies camp. Our leaders told us when we cried at night from homesickness to be comforted in knowing that the same moon was shining down on our moms and dads.

From now on, whenever I watch L&O, SVU, or CI, I'll be comforted in knowing you are too...or that you're at least recording them to watch later. :-)

Every other episode, MrMatt says "I worked with . . . on . . ." fill in name of character actor and some regional theatre production. His biggest "worked with"s are Kristin Chenoweth & Michael Emerson.

Hated Fred Thompson as DA.

My 13 year old daughter still refers to it as the "boom-boom" shows.
