But just bought and am listening to "Bringing it all back home"

Fucking Wow.

This is raw and painful

Love it

9. A career-best Clapton performance that didn't make it onto the "BobFest" CD.

12. Seen that one too. Very nice!

On a side note, does anybody else think Lou Reed borrowed some chords for "Sweet Jane" from "LMZ"?

15. Sweet Jane and LMZ are based on pretty standard chords
If pressed, I think I could come up with 20 songs that share that chord sequence....its catchy

10. For some of us, it didn't gel right away
Myself included

Yeah, now I understand

But for many years I thought he was overrated

6. Eventually, you will be
totally assimilated. Been drinking from the Bob well for 40 years...albums that I do not initially like
most always sneak up on you over time.
Just curious what you think of "Visions of Johanna" on B on B?
How old are you Taverner? Just curious...no judgement

7. Gargles in the ratrace choir
bent out of shape from society's pliers,
cares not to come up any higher
but rather drag you down into the whole that heees in.

14. 39, 40 in June
GenX all the way

Dylan is best in doses too - but that album's electric side is just one angry rant set to music - and if f'ing works. And there are some beautiful moments too.

"Visions" was OK..."One of us Must know" is about as close to perfect a song can be...

8. It ain't just like the night to play tricks when you're trying to be so quiet
Hi,
I became a fan a few decades ago with the release of Biograph. So many discoveries just on that collection alone I would still find a line, a phrasing or some of the music itself that would blow me away. That is still happening with me today. The thing I love about him is there are so many dimensions. He has love songs, he has political songs, he has funny songs, he has old timey country songs, and he has some of the meanest songs I have ever heard.

Peace

11. Yeah, he was amazing during that period
To me, it's mind-boggling that in just under 3 years, he released SIX masterpiece records (one a double album):

-Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (released May 27, 1963)
-The Times They Are a-Changin'
-Another Side of Bob Dylan
-Bringing it all Back Home
-Highway 61 Revisited
-Blonde on Blonde (released May 16, 1966)
