Is that what that phenomenon in the first pick is called? A sundog? I saw something like that during our last storm here in the Bay Area. Had never seen one before. Very cool.

2. We get them up here pretty often.
It's light refraction off of ice crystals, like an ice rainbow.

I always think of the phrase "nothing gold can stay" but of course, a photo will capture that gold moment forever...
