Does iced tea count as pop?
I'm trying to give up soda/pop, but drinking only water is getting kind of drab. I've been thinking about developing a taste for iced tea. Sadly, it's hard to find pre-packaged tea that doesn't have HFCS in it, but if I track some down, or start brewing my own, would that have the same negative health effects that pop does?

Might look at green tea, too.

Right now I'm having an Arizona "Lite Green Tea Lemonade" to try to ease into the tea flavor thing... This big can has about 150 calories in it and a decent amount of Vitamin C. HFCS + Sucralose. :/ Probably will be my last one of these, although it tastes pretty good.

1. Honest tea seems to have cornered the market on lightly-sweetened tea. nt

2. It's not carbonated, but ultimately it depends on what you sweeten it with, I guess.
Why don't you make your own? Can you boil water? You can make tea. Or, if you live in the Sunbelt, make Sun Tea. Don't even need to boil water.

4. Constant Comment has been my absolute #1 favorite for decades...

...and the great news is that they now market it (though it's a little
harder to find -- the tea is in most major supermarkets) as a green tea
with an even more delicate flavor (orange peel and many spices).
.
Unsweetened... and one of the few teas I drink where I feel no need at
all for any kind of sweetening -- hot or iced.
.
ADD ON EDIT: It's put out by Bigelow Tea.

5. I can highly recommend making your own.
It's easy, relatively cheep, and puts you in control over how much sweetener is used.

8. Also, if you want the health benefits that come with tea...
...brew your own. You won't get the beneficial phytochemicals in the bottled drinks. And, be aware that the good stuff breaks down relatively quickly. Brew only enough for a day if you are at all concerned about the stuff in tea that's good for you.

My favorite tea for making iced tea is Tazo's green with ginger. You can also make really good tea by mixing plain tea with lemonade. Black tea works the best, but green or white are just fine, too.

6. Nantucket Nectar half lemonade/half iced tea has no HFCS
and neither do Snapple Iced tea, some Liptons, Peace tea (by Arizona) and a few others...

9. I live on iced tea.
I make sun tea. 3 or 4 family size bags in a gallon jar. half day in the sun, between 1/2 and 3/4 cup white sugar. chill and drink over ice. fresh mint, lemon or lime, smashed strawberries etc can give variety.

Lemonade is good too. 1 part fresh lemon (or lime) juice, about the same amount of sugar, 4 to 5 parts water (or carbonated water - yum) same things can be added - mint, smashed berries, etc

other fruit juices mixed with soda water are tasty too

I just started making Jamaica too - a little expensive and very messy, but delicious! Google aguas frescas for some other recipes - melon, tamarindo, etc.
