Any movie recommendations, going to rent a movie from itunes.
Edited on Mon Apr-05-10 02:14 AM by RandomThoughts
sci fi is good, drama if not to slow, hopefully a film that has a plot and character development.

Any suggestions?

Anyone know if terminator salvation, or surrogates was any good?

5. Moon was terrific, although it has potential to be a bit jarring for some.
It has some metaphors for life in it that can cause issues with some people.

Also the character that played Eve, was named Rosie in the credits.

And of coarse Eliza, is close to Elisa, not sure why the miss there except maybe to create some linkage in some other thoughts.

But great movie.

3. Here's a few relatively recent ones
The Informant wasn't as bad as I expected.
Crazy Heart was well worth seeing.
I thought Up In the Air was a bit overrated, but still worth seeing.

9. I just saw The Fantastic Mr. Fox
It's a Wes Anderson movie so if you like his movies, you'll like this one.

I liked Surrogates but I thought Terminator: Salvation was just ok.

10. Terminator Salvation was terrible

Don't rent it. I thought T2 was the best of the lot. They're just milking the franchise now. No plot. Just an excuse to blow up a bunch of stuff.

11. Here is a list of good recent movies worth a watch if you havent yet:
The Watchmen
The Blind Side
Fast and Furious - I know I know it may not be for everyone but I was a senior in high school when the first one came out so I like them...except for Tokyo Drift.
The Hurt Locker - really good but the last 30 drag on a bit.
The Hangover
Inglorious Bastards
Four Christmases - really not that bad

One movie that is not worth your time is Couples Retreat.

Carey Mulligan is great. (A pity they wasted an Oscar on Sandra Bollocks)

15. HP & half Blood Prince.
Like someone else said, T4 Salvation was pretty good. In my opinion, even though it's been around awhile, the new Star Trek is very good. District 9 is probably the best true sci-fi of 2009.

A friend recommended Zombieland, but he thinks Army of Darkness is the best movie ever made, so.. enjoy that.

Two weeks from now... Avatar is out.

16. Just watched Surrogates.
Gives the feeling, people need to learn to live again.

It also had the vampire reference when he was fitting a temp surrogate.

"People using surrogates do not see themselves in the mirror."

Has that concept of people removing their masks in the film.

Almost a perfect movie. I remember I criticized the movie when I saw the trailer because of the scene with the lions and the deer. I was wrong on the possible thought about what that movie would be.

It was an excellent movie, very good, one of the best I have seen in awhile.

A quote from that film.

Bob Marley Three Little Birds.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAMjxUKxqlo

"Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"

Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', ("This is my message to you-ou-ou:")

Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry (don't worry) 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"

Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!
Every little thing gonna be all right. Don't worry!"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry!
"'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."

Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right" - I won't worry!
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, oh no!
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!

18. If you don't mind drama, an excellent movie is
Bent

Watching that movie is its own reward. The subtle nuances, the silent communication between the characters, the learning experiences, and the history are well worth the time it takes to watch it. I would recommend that movie to everyone.

19. another vote for Moon
if you like science fiction, you will love it.

Do not get Adventureland. Just saw it last night, and it was the absolute worst. Although the soundtrack was killer! Which made it even more disappointing......
