Time again for the yearly "Post your favorite Baseball team and when they will be eliminated....
....from playoff contentions"

As always, my team is the Cincinnati Reds (Phillies are my 2nd favorite). I think the Reds might actually have a quality team this year and will keep in some form of playoff contention until late July.

I think the 'stros will have a so-so first half, make a run for the playoffs in the second half, but do a September swan dive and miss out on the wild card.

25. Giants - September eliminated
I have been a Giants fan and saw at least one game a season from 1959 to 2003 but haven't been to the BA or any city over 100,000 since.

I own one baseball - a 1965 team ball with 5 hall of famers (Mays, McCovey, Perry, Marichal, Warren Spahn) plus the first Japanese player in the majors - Murakami (sp) signed in Japanese - my parents were doing some business and were taken into the dugout on their business trip. Aside from a Giants hat and the annual T-shirt I buy that is all my baseball paraphenalia. Have the games on satelite TV. My Mom gave away my pre-adolescent baseball cards when I was away at boarding school in HS in the late 60s. grrr

Orioles could be in it by the All-Star break, but not much further.

Marlins will be in contention for the wild card late and could very well make the post season.

49. But here is what really scares me about the Phils this year
Something like the last 5 years they have not won their opening day game and yet went on to have some of the best seasons ever including a world series.

I believe is streaks and I'm a bit worried that the 11-1 blowout of the Nats might be the beginning of the end for the Phils

I see them going around .500 - better than last year.

Even if my Phils fail to make the playoffs for some reason, they get a pass for a while because of their championship. The Eagles are a different story, as they have never won a Super Bowl.
