I got some $$ for my birthday last week and I decided that I want to upgrade my phone. I'm finally biting the bullet and going with a smartphone.... I want to be able to do more than talk and text on my phone. I've narrowed it down to a Palm Pixi vs a Blackberry Curve (the purple version-- I'm with Sprint). Leaning towards the BB because having played with the phones before, the keys are easier.
Any DUers have any experience with any of these phones? And can you get to DU from a smartphone?

1. I debated this for a long time. |
|
I was a long time Palm user who switched to the Blackberry Curve. Yes, the Curve was better than the Palm I had been using. But then I discovered the iPhone, and I'll never go back to either. For me, the iPhone really does all I need it to and more.

my Blackberry Curve is OK, but my boyfriends Droid is much better (although I hate the touch screen keypad, I'm old school, love buttons)

4. Go with an android based phone |
|
you won't regret it. Pituey on the palm and the blackberry. Pituey I say. I would have one, but for the fact my phone is picked by my boss.
And you can get DU on an Iphone, which means I am 100% sure you can get it better on a droid.

6. Blackberry hands down. I have sold them both and the Blackberry's are far superior. |
|
I would say that if you could get a Droid that may be better. The best thing about a BB is their email function. They are the only ones who have true "push" email, where emails come to your phone as soon as they hit your inbox like a text. They are easy to use and there is even a BB app store so... plus Obama loves them. That may not be a reason I just thought I'd say it. I have an iPhone and love it, will never have anything else if I can help it. But being with Sprint that is not an option to you. So if you want to stay with Sprint, go with a BB. Palms are neat but not very reliable, they mess up alot.

8. I've heard good things about the Droid. |

I know a lot of people with Blackberries, no real complaints from them.

9. Love my LG KC910 Renoir |

It basically has ALL THAT and a good 8MP camera.
LG also has some other good models at the moment.
Bought my daughter the LG GD510 SOLAR PHONE for Easter. A basic smart phone + it is green friendly.

10. I dislike the droid products and the palm products, I'd go with the bb |
|
I was a palm user and made the switch to bb some time ago. I find it very friendly. I have a curve and love it. The camera is not great, but the rest of the phone is superior to the pixi. I tried the droid late last year and was glad I switched back to BB.

I priced the BB today since that's what I've decided to go with (no store employees liked the palm either).
I can get it for $29.99 at Best Buy or $49.99 at the Sprint store. Sprint will help me set everything up and get me started on it.
Is it that complicated to get started with that it is worth the $20 or would you get it at Best Buy?
