Is it ok to laugh at dead people?

On another message board, we're laughing at a Darwin Award candidate.
Apparently the guy was a poacher on an African game preserve, who got lost and was munched by lions.
All they found was his skull and some bits of clothes.

We see a video of a ditwit fleeing police in a stolen truck after robbing a bank, the truck hits a light pole and blows up, killing the fleeing driver.

Is it wrong to laugh at these morans?
One guy on the board thinks so.

I tend to think it's wrong...

I do know, however, as a retired critical care nurse, that we nurses used to vent our feelings by using gallows humor...

So, really, I don't know any absolutes here.

2. I think it's in HOW the person died.

Those who die due to absolute stupidity like the Darwin Awards, or those who die in cases of poetic justice.

Not that they ARE dead, it's HOW they died.

I'm guessing being a critical care nurse, you've seen a few of the people who said "Hold m'beer" before they get all busted up.

Context is everything. If you laughed at Yitzak Rabin's death, you're an asshole. If you laughed at Saddam Hussein's you have anger issues. If you're just nervously reacting to something both shocking and karma-like, you're human.
