Woman shoots cousin to death over how she was dressed for Easter dinner

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Police in Ohio say a woman shot her cousin to death during an argument that started because one woman didn't think the other was dressed properly for Easter dinner.

Columbus police Officer Jean Holmes said in court Tuesday that the leg-baring shorts worn by 19-year-old Danielle Pickens sparked a verbal and physical confrontation with 42-year-old Evelyn Burgess on Sunday at Burgess' home.

Police say Pickens walked outside to leave and Burgess shot her in the head with a handgun. Pickens died at a hospital early Monday.

Burgess is charged with one count of murder. During her initial court appearance Tuesday, Franklin County Municipal Court Judge William Pollitt set bond at $500,000.

Burgess followed, pointed a handgun at her 19-year-old second cousin and shot her in the head, according to police ... Columbus homicide detective Steven Eppert .... said Burgess told investigators "she didn't mean to shoot" Pickens ...

I say "presumably", because if someone gets huffy about another person wearing shorts to a dinner on a religious holiday, it's probably a case of religious fanaticism.

Ironically, the young woman tried to turn the other cheek by walking away from the argument. She demonstrated more Christian behavior than the so-called Christian.

"Christian" fundamentalists are just as insane, evil, repressive, and dogmatic as "Muslim" fundamentalists, they just don't have large-scale control of society here.

Give the subhuman fanatic the needle. It'll serve as a useful lesson for the rest of her mindless kind.
