1. I'm way too much a pollyanna. I see the best in every situation
and end up in serious trouble all the time. I'm always saying to myself "I'm sure it will be allright".

2. What a question
Edited on Wed Apr-07-10 08:41 PM by Taverner
Simplified - are things getting better for the human race or not?

Yes, but by no fault of our own. And yet, no - not at all.

It depends on what you consider "better"

Is it one's pleasure? One's lack of suffering? One's feeling like he is part of a team? One's feeling that he is, despite all other things considered, a hero and his killing some innocent is a major event in the grand scheme from god?

Less suffering, yes. But we have merely clustered our zones of less suffering. Much like green zones.

5. All three, depending on the mood.
I have a natural tendency to worry.

But I like exploring possibilities, so perhaps I'm an optimist.

And I acknowledge I can't know the future and there's no point in torturing myself with worst-case scenarios, so I guess that makes me a realist.

10. I'm an Action Optimistic Cynic
or maybe a cynical optimist.

I believe the glass is both half empty and half full, and that instead of arguing about it, why not fill that fuckin thing up, right?

Also, that given the opportunity sometimes horrible things can and will happen, but that (a) it could be worse and (b) I'll probably learn from the experience.

17. Allow me.
I think that I shall never see
a poem lovely as a tree.
Unless the poem has Ashley boobs
in which case, sorry tree, you lose.

22. My creativity is a gift from God, not a spigot that can be turned off and on...
like one of Madonna's toys.

Oh wait, yes it can.

Second verse, same as the first...

But any poem that's e'er been wrote
no matter what the crappage,
could ever suck so mightily
as pasty Pattinson's Package.

Aaaaaaand, you're welcome.

25. Definitely a realist, I've been describing
bodily functions and who did what and where for nearly 19 years. Doesn't phase me a bit.

Son w/bleeding disorder last week: "Mom, I cut my finger!!!"
Me: "No bleeding on my sister's new carpet!!"

But the last ten years have destroyed everything I cherished and believed in and now I am mostly a pessimist, although my mood has improved slightly with the Obama Administration being in office
