I'm loving me some Lowe's |
|
I posted here a couple of weeks ago about having a Fisher & Paykel washer, less than a year old, that just died. I've been going around and around with the local repair company to get the thing fixed under warranty. They can't get the parts needed to fix the washer, and I've gathered from their attitude that they don't really care WHEN my washer gets fixed.
I finally wised up and called Lowe's, where I bought the washer. I called hoping they'd be able to intervene and get hold of someone at F&P that might be able to determine WHEN parts might be available for the machine. But when I explained the situation, the manager said "two weeks is too long" and offered to replace the washer.
So Lowe's is giving me a replacement. Different brand (which I wanted because what good is a F&P if you can't get parts!!!) but equal value. That's right - giving. No argument, no fighting, no questions, nothing. They offered. It'll be delivered tomorrow.
And that, my friends, is why I choose to patronize Lowe's.
That, too, is how corporate giants SHOULD behave.

1. They get all of my business |
|
There's a Lowe's and a Home Depot across the street from each other in my town. You remember when the founder of HD, who is in Minnesota, said that any business owner who voted for Franken should be shot. I sent them a letter and haven't been back since, but I agree that Lowe's has great service. I just bought a dishwasher from them, and got the $50 rebate and free delivery and installation, they remove the old one and for some reason they waive the 7% sales tax if they istall it.

2. Well, I was happily amazed. |

Glad to hear that you had a good experience with them, as well.
Yeah, I know that HD leans toward the right, and I stay away from them for that very reason.

and about Home Depot being right leaning as said in another post
Unfortunately, HD is more convenient for me, as there's one right down the hill, but...
I like Lowe's better (seems more organized, and they don't seem to be blocking off the aisle you need to walk down every time you turn a corner) anyway, and they actually send out discount cards fairly often, which helps save when I'm buying stuff for the (fairly) new house.

I think they are way better and more friendly than HD. Better lighting and store set-up too.
