I want to post this, In my opinion, the BBC 6 part special on Ancient Rome

Is crap. It actually has been pissing me off. Not because it does not have some information in it.

Not because it does not have a historical basis.

But because between the historical basis is a subtle weaving of stories of ideas and ideologies of today.


My point is that much of it has nothing to do with ancient Rome, but is about promoting ideas today regarding situations around today's current events.


I have only seen 3 episodes so far, but I know spinning crap when I see it, and it pisses me off when people hide their personal views of some current ideological discussion as some history of the past.

In my view, it is crap crap crap,


The only redeeming quality is that it is about as accurate as much of the roman history of that era, when it talks about today in metaphor.

Crap Crap Crap.
