I have to go help dig up a dead tree, in the rain
I'm going to go do something really fun, on my next day off, to make up for this.

1. You should write a song about the experience.
Because just the subject line is half a song in itself. The next verse could start off with something like, "I was drunk the day my ma got outta prison."

9. These are original lyrics... HONEST!!!
.
We both dug the tree out in the rain.
I didn't think that I could take it
'cause it took so long to shake it
but I'll never see those dirt-clogged roots again.
Oh NO!!! Oh NO!!! Oh N-O-O-O-O-O!!!
.

3. My dear Haole Girl!
Ugh, that sounds truly awful!

I hope you didn't hurt yourself...

And I really hope you're done with it!

5. Actually, it got too cold by the time my husband finished changing the oil in his car...
I'm so disappointed! ;-)

4. Gotta Dig Up a Tree
I'm wishing that shovel would make me free
From the heartache and the pain
While I dig up a dead tree
In the rain

Feel free to add lyrics. Sounds very country.

7. For some reason the movie Cool Hand Luke popped into my mind

I think there was a scene where he's forced to dig a hole in the rain until they tell him to refill it with the guard, played by Strother Martin, saying "What we've got heah is a failiah ta communicate."

8. Radi. That is a good one. Write a song. Don't forget someone
must get run over by a train, in the rain.
