1. What a lot of people forget...
...with the rise and fall that followed the mega-success of "Frampton Comes Alive" and the Farrah Fawcett-ization of the "I'm In You" period...

...is that Frampton was, and still is, one hell of a guitar player.

In the years that followed "I'm In You" he's made some tough, raw records here and there, but the one-two punch of "Frampton Comes Alive" burnout and "I'm In You" (not to mention the Sgt. Pepper movie) seems to have blinded some to that fact.

2. Without a doubt
He can still play like a madman, saw him live a while back and he seems "well preserved" lol. It was a great show.

7. "Performance / Rockin' The Fillmore" is one of my all-time favorite albums
I have a mix CD in the car with "I Walk On Gilded Splinters" on it...when I'm on a long freeway drive I like to pop that one in.

8. Frampton was all of 16 or 17 years old on those early Humble Pie records!
He and Rick Derringer must be among the top teen guitar virtuosos of all time.

12. Rick and his brother started The McCoys in 1962. Rick was then 15, and

this was their third band. They went on to write some songs (Such as "Sorrow", covered by David Bowie.) They later became a house band and toured and recorded for years as Johnny Winters' blues band.

Rick is another "one hell of a guitar player" most peopel don't think of right away.

Frampton is SO under rated, always has been a superb guitarist and performer. Jack Bruce was wonderful on this, as was Gary Brooker. I even liked Ringo, which I usually don't.
I love this kind of stuff...think any young players saw this and got nervous?

Thanks, AV - this is on my favorites now.
