Let's talk about: Sex Tapes |
|
Recently a coworker informed me that he was single again. I asked what happened. He said a friend of his was at a bar one night and the bartender was crowing about this person he had been with. The bartender proceeds to take out his phone and show the guy the pictures from this alleged dalliance.
Coworkers friend recognizes the person in the picture as coworkers boyfriend. Rushes to coworkers house and tells him what he's learned.
Coworker confronts SO. SO denies everything. Coworker said that he believes SO, but also believes his friend. He said he would have no choice but to go talk to the bartender himself. SO says no, don't do that. It's all true.
I just don't get it. With seemingly every freaking celebrity having some kind of sex tape out there how or why would you allow a person to take pictures or video your intimate moments?
I'm glad my coworker found out the truth, but I find it hard to believe that in this day and age people still think that kind of stuff is safe.

1. We're still in a celluloid mindset, back in the days when pictures and film had negatives |

and duplicating them was expensive and difficult, and so a couple might make a movie or take some photos, and basically one could just go destroy the negatives and one set of photos and be done with if the partnership ever ended.
I think people think, "Ok, as long as I keep it on my camera, or download it just to my own computer, I'm fine" and they forget that duplication is stupid easy and a potentially vindictive partner can just grab the camera or the computer and duplicate at will. And once a pic is sent to someone, it can be sent to anyone and everyone.
And they also probably get lost in the moment of passion. "Hey, let's film this, just for us!" and think "Yeah, we're gonna be together forever! Let's do that!"
Except that they forget they are the type of people no one wants to be with for very long.
And then there's the reaaaaalllllllllllllyyyy stupid move of filming your adulterous encounters.
