I can't stop smoking!
But really, why would I want to?

Haydes lends a paw by playing with his rope toy and knocking shit over.

2. Haydes looks like he's more interested in playing! Good looking dog
but what breed? It doesn't look like a shepard, but kind of has that look ( ears, nose )

3. He's a German Shepherd
Some large breed dogs have a recessive gene making their markings off, especially in what would be black markings. In direct light, dark areas look blue. Haydes is a 'blue' German Shepherd. He does have skin issues because of this birth defect, but by and large, he's really no different except for looking funny. When I had him as a puppy he looked like a smurf. As he ages, the blue effects seem to wane but he's still not typical looking, by any means.

Now if I could only find out what gene makes him fucking crazy.

18. heh...you know, I looked at it at first I thought it was a German Shepard
but I also looked at the build and the coloring....I had to just take a guess and say it wasn't a shepard, but a beautiful dog nonetheless

14. Interesting. Do you use them "green", or do you let them dry first?

so we save them for smoking. It's a wonderful wood... similar to applewood.

7. I wish I was more of a salmon fan
I love the way it looks but salmon is a fish I can't stand. Which is odd because I love most fish.

Bummer, huh?

12. I've eaten it smoked plenty
Just last week, I tried it again when I was back home. It just doesn't do it for me. But as long as you like it, that's all that matters, right?

9. Round 2 - Pulled chicken breast
The chicken should be done in about an hour. Maybe a little longer. I like my chicken breast a touch dry because the bbq sauce just soaks it anyway.

Round 3, you ask? Pork tenderloin. Should be done around 8 pm, EST.

15. Nice. And I agree.
Is this an "eat it as it comes out of the smoker" feast? Or do you keep them warm in an un-iced ice chest or similar and eat them all at once?

17. Haydes is cute.
Edited on Sat Apr-24-10 04:16 PM by TZ
Are you gonna give him a sausage in return for him terrorizing the neighborhood cats and children...;)
By the way..looks yummy....I wish I had an actual deck instead of just a small balcony...Although one of my neighbors will grill on the sidewalk sometimes and the smell makes me nuts....
Hint...Your neighbor on the other side of the river wouldn't object to visiting Virginia for a grilling ;)

Are there more expensive smokers? Sure. Can you essentially make one just like this yourself with scraps? Yup. But for 300 dollars, it's pretty much ready out of the box and it holds temp beautifully.

Edited to add: just realized the link was bad.

22. I would like something simple, yet effective for the purpose...Weber is
a great name to stand by, I'm not a price tag-reliant type. If I buy something I'm confident will last me for years, it is an investment as far as I'm concerned
