there is a semi ocean/Australia theme going on in that bathroom - and doesn't everybody eventually dump the sea shells and other beach findings in the bathroom?

9. Grasa!
:scared:
bought it off an itinerant vendor in Mata Ortiz. I have never opened it, just bought it for the label. It is a cure all for everything from lumbago to cancer.

12. coyote fat!

I am intrigued...is that really coyote fat or the name of a folk remedy or some pseudo-scientific cure?

What are the ingredients?

14. it does not list them. I can pick up a slight menthol smell - but I am NOT opening the lid!
so it is probably just mentholatum, although it has a brownish tint so quien sabe?

3. EVERY bathroom should have a snake bite kit, 'cause ya never know.

And a tin of Cloud Dragon White is indispensable.

5. that baby powder can is just like the one
my brother hit me on the head with when I was brought home from the hospital. Family lore has it that he said "bombs away!". And sibling rivalry was off & running!

the "best" find there was a racist brand of toothpaste, but it fell apart long ago. (Darkie Toothpaste, complete with awful stereotype cartoon of a Black guy in a top hat)

OMG it's on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darlie

7. I can't help wondering what that Ovarite stuff is.
Also, they still sell those headache powders, so... are those new and mixed in or is it an old package?

10. some herbal remedy for "infirmities of the woman" - looks like coffee grounds
yeah some of that stuff is new - cheap souvenirs that are a little different than post cards - plus going into pharmacies in foreign countries is just a blast - I always go looking for SOMETHING just to see what else is there. Other stuff I have found in dollar stores.

:wtf:

I'm trying to imagine other products for which that would be a questionable idea.

Viagra? Tampons? Suppositories?

18. That's a wonderful collection.
But I'm not sure I'd want to go anywhere near any of it with an open wound.
And that picture on the Ovarite box (?!) is either the human female reproductive system with extremely flamboyant fallopian tubes or the head of a cow with enormous ears.
My god...how old are those things, anyway!?

Not even any Carter's Little Pills?

Most rural pharmacies at least have some bag balm. Just sayin...
