1. My mom's dad died when she was 15
It affected her very deeply. She is always worried about time running out, like there aren't enough hours in the day for her. She's in a never-ending battle against age. I think this is due to learning about the fragility of life at a young age. And, of course, she loved her dad very much.

3. I'm sorry for your mom's and your loss
My dad's death was the day I became an adult and began raising my mom, and learning that nothing works out like you imagine.

7. I can understand why she is like that.
I am now 4 years and 4 months older than my Dad was when he died. I think about what has transpired since I was the age he was when he died. The things I would have missed if I had only lived as long him.

5. We're in the same "club"
My mom died shortly after I turned 13, (mumble mumble) years ago last February. It took a LONG time for me to even begin to deal, and to not blame myself and be self-destructive because I was the one who found her, and my last words with her were an argument.

It gets better, I swear. I learned to appreciate all of the good things about her, about our relationship, and for the many valuable life skills and lessons she taught me.

We're all a sum of all of our experiences, good and bad, and none of us would be who we are without them both. Rock on, hugs, good luck, and if you ever need to talk, please don't hesitate to shoot me a PM. I know I am a stranger, but sometimes I've found that makes it easier.

ps - yes, you do look like a bad ass chick! I do think things like this toughen us up a little, no doubt.

9. We never know what life's going to deal us, my dear rf...
My parents are still alive, and in their 90's. Go figure.

They were not always the best parents possible, but they love me, and that was key.

Love your ring!

mwa,
Peggy

13. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. My Dad died when I
was 12 on January 28th -40 years ago. Unfortunately, even after all these years, every event of that day replaces in my mind each year when January 28 comes around. I wish you peace.
