Does anyone else find laptop computers very hard to use or type on? |
|
I have a Dell laptop but I've found that I barely use it other than to browse the net, because for me, I keep hitting keys that cause boxes to pop up or windows to close. I don't know if it's just laptops in general, my brand of laptop, or my operating system, but it's infuriating.

1. My dear Tommy_Carcetti... |

I have a laptop too; in fact, I'm using it now. It's a Lenovo, and it is a bit harder to use than my desktop.
The whole machine is 13" wide, and the keyboard is a bit less than that. The keyboard on my desktop is 17" wide and much easier to use...
I'm not sure just where your problem lies without seeing the layout. Still, I'm sorry.
I hope someone else has some good ideas for you!

2. I had a laptop quite a while ago and found it difficult. I love my |
|
PC w/mouse at home. However, I'm considering getting a laptop so I can do some writing in a cool coffee hang out by my place which gives me inspiration. I don't think I'd like a laptop to use at home.

I use a Compaq/HP and don't have any real problems. I tried using my friends netbook, though, and that was awful. Too cramped for someone with chubby fingers.
Oddly, my wife hated it because she has long, slender fingers.

6. Not 'very' hard, but yes; |
|
annoying. And I seem to be having the same issues as you. But I'm optimistically assuming it's due (in my case) to the novelty of using a laptop. I bought this one (a Dell also) about a month ago. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting used to it.

10. No. I love my IBM/Lenovo with the little red button in the middle, so I don't have to take my |

hands off the keys as with a mouse.

I'll take my desktop any day over the laptops. My husband just inherited my daughter's old acer laptop. I've used that as well as my granddaughter's toshiba and my daughter's new Dell. Each has its own sensitivity. I end up using an additional mouse whenever I borrow them.

I really hate touch pads, though, and had to get a wireless mouse.

I am using both right now.
I have a full size keyboard on my Acer but it is hard to type on.
