Does anyone know how to get a Free Credit report online

without submitting your debit or credit card #? I don't wish to disclose that info even though they say they need it. I've been to 3 sites already, all of which 'refund' the "one dollar processing fee"...so why do they need CC card info at all?

I'm already leary of disclosing the necessary info, so there's no way I'm going to give my CC#...seems way too shady.

Sooo, does anyone know of a reputable site I can go to that doesn't do this?

I've used this site, and it really is free, you can only get a report every 12 months. But I don't remember if I had to use a credit card. I don't think so, but it's been a while.

My daughter swears by this site. She's very careful about giving out information. She uses it once a year, like clock work.

9. You can get the score for free at creditkarma.com ...

... but no report from there, they get it from Transunion.

annualcreditreport.com is the way to get credit reports for free. If you've been denied credit then you can get a free one from the reporting bureau cited in the denial letter.

In some states all you need to say is that you're a victim of ID theft and the bureaus will let you take a peek for free.

Plus I recommend for your own safety putting a permanent freeze on your credit report with all three bureaus - with a freeze banks etc cant pull your credit report and thus someone trying to open up credit in your name will have to supply the PIN number to the bureaus to unlock the freeze - for Transunion it's a six digit number, the others like 9-12 digits for a PIN.
