my heart that my baby loves animals as much as I do. Some babies are scared of big dogs. That would have been something else if that were the case, but she loves dogs. "Hank" and "Hey Lolly" were some of her first words. (she thinks Lolly's name is Hey Lolly".

79. Hank reminds me of our dog, Buddy.

We think Buddy is part Shepherd and part Golden Retriever. He definitely has the disposition of a Golden -- he loves everyone.

He does favor Hank. Hank is Golden Retreiver and Australian Shepherd. The most gentle natured dog I have ever seen, and I have had lots of dogs. Your Buddy looks the same.

109. Buddy is a sweet boy. That is why we adopted him. We were at

our local farmers' market and our local shelter had their dogs there. My son Daniel (about 2 at the time) walked up to Buddy and put his arms around his neck. Buddy just sat there, and licked Daniel's face. We had lost our Border Collie Cody two weeks prior and knew right then that Buddy was going to be the newest member of our family.

He is so sweet with the kids, but is an amazing watch dog, too -- a job he takes very seriously!

Mine died so young of heart illness. I miss her.

never got it through her head that she was a bit big for a lap dog. She would drape herself across my legs, and there she stayed. I miss her, and our nose-to-nose cuddle sessions.

instead of living in a small apartment, and being gone all day. I wouldn't be able to do a dog justice in these circumstances.

55. This is a pic of my friend, the late lamented Zelda Dog.

In the last year of he life, she swam in the ocean for the first time, climbed a mountain, survived cancer surgery & caught a bird in mid-air. The cancer finally got her last September.




This is the new dog, Orchid. I got her from the city shelter in December when she was 10 months old & 35 lbs, with the expectation that (being a Pit Bull) she wouldn't get too much bigger. Now she's pushing 60 lbs and is as rambunctious a puppy as ever.

This sweetie still thinks she's a little lap dog though. (ORCHID! NO! You can't sit on my lap! Get Down!)
