I've been smoking a bit longer than that. I therefore can appreciate what it took.
Good for you! Seriously!

Can you taste food again? That was one of the first things I noticed was how many wonderful flavors I had missed.

|
I tried and eventually moved to a pipe from the cigs:) Looks strange but certainly feel better. These stories are always an inspiration to stop all of it. Weed? That one will take more an effort:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOEgjkfuMOg&feature=related

18. Physically, you're in the clear. Now don't get cocky! |
|
That was my downfall a couple times before I finally quit about 8 years ago. I figured I was clean and could handle cheating now and then. I couldn't. My advice is to convince yourself that if you're ever going to cheat, it has to be after a full year. That doesn't mean you SHOULD cheat in a year :-)

You should buy yourself something nice with the money you've saved not buying cigarettes!
I'm still trying...I went from 2 packs a day..to 1 pack a day..to 10 cigs a day..and I've been stuck at 5 or 6 a day for about a year now. :-(

27. What a great accomplishment |
|
I quit 15 years ago. Very hard thing to do...even harder to not pick it up again.
After about a year I tried to smoke again...I got physically ill. I am now absolutely disgusted by the smell of cigarettes.
