Are jeans, tee-shirt and sneakers okay for a pop concert?
It's been a very, very long time since I went to a concert, but I'm going on the 15th to see Engelbert at MGM Grand @Foxwoods. I've got to hang around most of the day, though, and I don't really want to have to dress up or anything. But is casual dress okay? I know we've become fairly lax in our dress code overall, but since it's at MGM Grand, I just wanted to make sure.

I wasn't a huge fan when I was younger--I was SO into Paul Revere and the Raiders, especially Mark Lindsay--so I never collected any of his albums. Nowadays, I've been catching up with his work, and enjoying it thoroughly. A friend and I did go to see Mark Lindsay many years ago, and now I have him as a friend at FB. The universe often moves in mysterious ways!

1. My dear hyphenate!
I am most certainly the wrong person to answer you!

I have never been to a pop concert, but it seems to me that your outfit should be just fine...

I hope!

And by kicking your thread, perhaps someone more knowledgable will come along and give the correct answer!

:P

I hope you'll have a great time, no matter what you wear!

2. I'd wear that.
Maybe choose one of your nicer t-shirts & non-holey jeans, and comb your hair. (I'm your mom of the moment.) Isn't the MGM Grand a casino? I don't know Foxwoods, but I've been to the one in Vegas. Casinos are pretty much anything-goes kinds of places, so you should be alright.

3. Wear comfortable, closed toed shoes.
Do not wear shoes that expose your feet, because there is a high likelihood of getting your feet stepped on. Sneakers are good.

5. Yeah, he's done a lot recently in doing live performances
as well as write a newsletter, and travel. He recently went to Scandinavia on a cruise with Deb, his wife, and he was sending back his pictures through his cellphone.

He's also doing a bit of a tour through the country, and if you're interested, you can find his schedule on his homepage, www.marklindsay.com. He's recently updated the friends list as a fan page, which means more people can find him there.
