I missed you guys. I'm going to order a pizza and skim DU!
Hey, folks!

I was a longtime lurker, back in 03 and 04 leading up the 2nd Bush election. I was living in England at the time, and DU was my main source of US election info and main outlet for rage. It was great. It reminded me that, despite my voluntary expatriation, there was still much in America I loved, and much of America in me. So, thanks.

I've been off and on here for the past few years, too. I was here for the midterms in 06 and for the bickering and craziness in the 08 primaries. I was here off and on for the Obama juggernaut. I'm not a rank and file Democrat, but I usually vote Democrat. There are some good ones and some bad ones (mostly bad, by virtue of their being politicians). I am not deeply invested in the fate of the DNC, and I think the DLC should, frankly, burn in hell. I was a Kucinich supporter - can you tell?

Anyway, I haven't been here so much lately. There are several websites and blogs I frequent, mostly about sustainability, peak oil, and real food. We need to make so many changes to even have a chance of making it through what's coming, both as individuals and families and communities and as a culture. Most of our culture could disappear from the face of the earth with no tears shed from me; however, there are - still - some things I love about this place, this land. So I want to be part of the solution.

Shit, this turned serious. Maybe I should've posted it in GD. Haha. Apologies!

So, I'm going to order a pizza. What kind should I get? I am thinking tons of veggies, maybe some sausage. Then again, crunchy pepperoni on thin crust is pretty freaking delicious. And I want a Dr Pepper, too.

I look forward to spending more quality time with you folks, both tonight and in the coming months!

1. My dear RadicalTexan...
I don't remember you, but welcome back anyway!

This place is addictive, if you let it...

I am here everyday, and I post every damn day too. This place has my heart for good or ill, lol!

I look forward to reading your posts.

Stick around!

And enjoy your pizza, no matter what kind you get...

2. WB, RadicalTexan.
Hope you come back often.

(Although I'm still trying to understand your interest in real food + pepperoni = ???) :hi:

7. That's what I got!
No, not "real food." But sometimes you just gotta have a pizza.

6. I don't know you..
but welcome back!

As for the pizza, mushroom, green pepper, and onion. YUM! And get a coke on the side, save your crust and dip it in the coke, swear to God, it's sooooo good. Never tried it with Dr. Pepper.

Enjoy your pizza.

Not enough flavor in skim.
