Can't be happy for friend whose daughter had her First Communion

I am just so disgusted with the RC church. Why would anyone, especially a parent, continue to support that perverted institution?

A friend just sent me loads of pictures of her daughter's First Communion. I think I need to practice, "if you don't have something nice to say..."

I have issues w/ all the scandals too, but the scandals don't represent the majority.

4. The church is ultimately the people. Obviously the occasion meant

something special to your friend. You needn't say anything positive about the church, but it wouldn't hurt to comment on her child's pretty outfit and thank her for sharing the photos. She didn't mean any harm or insult in sending them to you.

Can't you separate your feelings for a good friend's joy from your
feelings about the source? It's not as though your friend is aiding
and abetting the corrupt -- she just chooses that system of beliefs
as her own.

It's like loving what America SHOULD stand for while simultaneously
being disgusted and angered over what (successive) administrations
seem to be trying to tear down.
