the joy of getting ready to move into a new house is greatly diminished |
|
by the infernal suckitude of fecking packing, seriously contemplating a gas soaked rag and a match

1. No. Having had a house burn down and losing almost everything, believe me, |
|
you will get through this packing moving thing and eventually it will be wonderful.

2. Lived in an RV for a number of years... |
|
. ...partly because I detest packing and moving. . When I moved, I simply unhooked my electricity, unhooked my water and sewer lines, and drove off. . . . OK, a little bit of preparatory tie-downage was needed. But not much. .

of course between the BF and I, we have four spawn, three cats and two houses worth of crap to pack and move, thankfully our new house is 2300 square feet so we have plenty of room to keep the things that make the cut. We plan on selling the house and buying a little cabin up north as soon as he retires, anything that doesn't fit in 1200 square feet is history (of course neither one of us are retiring for almost 30 years :P )

And I literally just threw away everything I had not used in the course of the time I lived in that house (except a select few items with sentimental value). I think I got rid of 75% of the crap I used to own. Sooooo much better.

5. I have just started doing that... |
|
I figure if I haven't used it in the last two years, I probably never will! And I am sick to death of moving around my "just in case" wardrobe (in case I gain or lose a few sizes) used to be a range of size 4-16, culled the herd down to sizes 6-10 :)

6. I moved from a large space to a very small space. I took some clothes, my photos, |
|
some art and papers I needed.
Then I told my friends and family to go into the house and take everything they wanted. A charity took the rest.
Delightful!
