Tornadoes - several of them -
and supercells to the west as far as I can see and coming my way. Moving fast. Based on the video footage there likely already have been some injuries/fatalities. Damn I ***HATE*** storm season.

Yeah, we've got the gloves, and the radio, and the light, and the cell phone, and the blankets and the pillows and the doggies all set to camp out in the hallway if need be.

Hope everyone in the path of these takes precautions and stays safe.

1. Good luck to you, C_B .. hang in there. I'd be freaking out, even though I see weather like here too
in FL a lot.

Let us know how you fare please.

Hope you come out of it well.

Cheers.

So far things skirting to the south of us. Going to try to stay awake tonight as long as possible.

Hope we all make it through the night.

I shot this about 5pm , north Oklahoma City. It looked like it was going to get rough up here then it fizzled out, I guess that storm to the south sucked all the energy out of this one.

6. We were released from work early today because of the potential storms.
Good thing, I hadn't been home 20 minutes before all hell started breaking loose. I was running around packing a bag for me and the dog in case we had to run. This was Basie's first big storm, and he did really well. He only whined a bit, but that was because I had him in the crate and I was standing out on the walkway in the rain with the storm sirens going off, trying to measure the air velocity.

Yes, I'm a weather geek....

OKC has the all clear, but the rest of the state has not been so lucky. Northern OKC got some action, but I don't know the extent yet.

Hope you're safe!

8. My nephew's out chasing these storms
Don't know if he stayed close to home (Tulsa) or went up to Kansas. I hope to hear from my sister this evening.

Stay safe!

9. Chasers are crazy people!
I know a lot of fellow ham radio operators who chase for local emergency ops as well as for the Weather Service. They take it very seriously, but there are some real cowboys out there. Hope your nephew's safe!!

11. I hope he's safe too!
He's been chasing for 5 years now. He's very careful, but lives for days like this.

15. Hi, Katya!
Husband and I are both hams. We used to spot for the National Weather Service in Tulsa until we got too old to stay up that late at night. LOL

I don't think it's possible to live here without becoming a weather geek. ;)

16. Lots of storms
including some long-lived supercells with tornadoes here in Oklahoma last night. Lots of property damage and some fatalities.

Everything is ok here. Worst of the storms were to my south and northwest. There was a storm at one point that was headed this way that fell apart. Then the weather folks spent a lot of time monitoring for re-development.

I spent the evening watching the weather, checking up on a couple of folks that I know that were in the path of one of the larger storms (they're ok but got some baseball size hail), and warning some elderly family members in advance of the storm's approach. And trying to calm the doggies who seem to hate the storms as much as I do.
