Your favorite coffee shop.
There is a locally owned coffee place here called Selah's that is awesome! it's in an old house and there is a big lounge area that used to be a family room and it has lots of soft comfy chairs!

6. A wonderful dive with red naugahyde booths, in San Jose, called The Cardinal Coffee Shop
EVERY kind of comfort food you could imagine. Amazing. A bit of a toilet with questionable clientele (especially in the wee hours as it is open 24/7):

14. Tim Horton's in Canada. We love that chain. Amazing coffee and we
don't know why. When you buy there coffee in a can and take it home and brew it yourself it isn't nearly as good. So we wonder what they put in their coffee in the store to make it so good...extra caffeine? MSG? it is still the great canadian mystery. But their coffee is amazing.

15. I find the coffee at Tim's is served FAR too hot. It's kinda bland and I don't really
like strong coffee, such as Second Cup serves. Ugh! There must be a middle ground somewhere!

17. Placing a Tim's right outside the St. George - Bedford Ave. subway exit in Toronto
Edited on Sat May-15-10 09:42 PM by Captain Hilts
has COMPLETELY changed the area. It's a hugely great addition to the UToronto campus.

Did you hear how at the Toronto Film Festival Lauren Bacall raved about how much she loved Tim Bits?

18. espresso royale
It's a chain--a fairly small one, though, and there's one about a block from my office, so it's convenient. It's got three levels, all of which have comfortable seating, some good natural light, and free wifi. The coffee is good, and they have a lot of fair trade beans. :)

20. Caffe Tempo in Minneapolis.
Another little locally-owned place. Nothing fancy; good coffee; a small food menu. A nice local hangout. Totally un-Starbucks.
