So i cry easier, i worry more and am more emotional in general.

Is this part of getting older, or is this just a reaction to a lot of stress?

1. May be something else...
I have found I am likely to worry less as I've gotten older. It seems easier to let things go.

Something might be up with your hormones these days if you find these feelings are not usual for you.

I'm sorry you are under stress.

4. Have to second Phentex.
As I get older, the less things wind me up.

Probably something else going on in your life.

Remember, this too shall pass.

2. Well, depending on what you mean by "older"....
Could it possibly be a hormonal thing?

I ask not to be sexist, but Mrs. Arbusto is experiencing things similar, and her doc thinks it's peri-menopause. Mrs. Arbusto is in her early 40s.

18. You can be perimenopausal very young.
I started to have hormone fluctuation in my thirties so I know. You might want to talk to your Gyno about seeing whats up with your hormone levels. There are lots of non-pharmaceutical ways to get back on track.

5. I'm going to say a combination of stress and
the fact that you're an aware human being. Sometimes the price you pay for that is suddenly being acutely aware of the weight of the world around you.

Alternate theory: we've not hung out in a while and you're suffering withdrawal from how awesome I am. :p

10. Sometimes you go into a deep freeze. For me it was a childhood friend who
dominated and controlled me. At 25, when I woke up, I was much more emotional.

Anyhow. Crying is good for you. It clears things up.

11. When you say "less tough" do you mean less assertive?
 or do you mean that you just sit back and don't let the shit that bothers you now bother you like it did, oh....ten years ago?

I've mellowed out ever since I left retail, for example

14. That's been happening to me alot lately too
I'm crying much more than ever before in my life, but I'm not "depressed" or at least if I am, I refuse to believe it.

Pre-menopause is certainly a possibility for me though.

But it SUCKS!! I can barely have any conversation of anything meaningful without resorting to tears.

Of course, the world is seriously fucked up in so many ways, so crying is a totally appropriate response.

I've been where you are, Pri: ripe for ideas and potential and full-on in touch with every heart-touching nuance. It's beautiful but tiring state of awareness. You'll find your way to something good and transformational from this place in your life. :legendary woman:
