What's your worst trait as a DUer?

For example, me, I tend to write long. Explain too much. Go on when I could've, and should've, made it short and sweet. I'm too much in love with words and actually like the sound of my own voice. Since one of my jobs is listening and the other is writing I guess it works out, but I expect I can bore the bark off a tree when I get in a mood.

See? I could have said that in two words.

1. I rarely give people the benefit of the doubt, especially if it's about one of my pet issues.

I try to post fairly, but you can be sure that whether I post or not, I'm sitting here going "I'm so sure" to just about everything. :spank:

I'm a low-count poster even after all this time (I've researched this--my post-count was so low NewYawker99 welcomed me to DU three times over a number of years :blush:), I sometimes post when wasted, and I let my donor-star expire today. I don't feel like getting out my credit card this minute, so I'm totally posting in "Groups" tomorrow, but still, I suck.

And I don't always remember to spell-check.

And I have completely started a thread with just the title "Testing" only recently. What is that? Am I that unaware after all this time of the basics of posting on this site that I suspect I can't post a picture?

Well--yeah. Basically, my worst trait is I'm totally inept at being in an on-line community, I think. Which is weird, because I really spend a lot of my life on-line....

I read, re-read, and then change the wording of sentences and even whole paragraphs. I spend WAY too long worrying about silly things too like which smilie to use, ect.

And after all that and I've finally decided that the post is good to go, I'll do a spell-check and several previews, changing yet more things! :crazy:

I guess I take my posts way too seriously. And the biggest irony is that I don't think many people even read them. I'm not complaining, just saying...I think it goes with the newbie territory.

I'm just one of those people who don't believe that all opinions carry equal weight and deserve equal time and consideration.

So, when confronted with vaccine conspiracy theories, rejection of Western culture as without philosophical merit, and just about every other cockamamie philosophical conjecture or tin-foil hat theory that is meant to make me believe that I've been "drinking the Kool-Aid" or am "following the herd with the rest of the sheeple", I don't necessarily feel the need to show deference or kindness, and I don't mind saying so in direct terms.

Some people think that my lack of patience to suffer their prattling of whatever bit of nonsense they think is real and important is indicative of a weakness of mind, when it is, in reality, a total impatience with their inability to see the simple fact that they haven't at all thought the matter through using reason rather than believing they've cracked some grand Knights Templar secret code.
