11. Next Tuesday, May 25th is the season finale.
Tonight's episode was fantastic! So much going on, it was making my head spin.

Hoo, boy. Is Kalinda hot, or what??? Nothing wrong with Alicia, either.

Gosh, I love this show!

I've watched every episode and it's been getting better and better as the season has gone on.

I'm thrilled it's been renewed for next year!

6. I watched a few episodes, liked it, but got distracted
On a recent trip with my mom, I was forced to watch it and got re-hooked. I haven't seen this week's episode, so no spoilers, please.

10. Yes. I like it.
However, I think it is taped in New York. Since it is set in Chicago, why not tape it there?

I am not sure how accurate they are on all the Chicago style politics. I am not sure who they have for advisers. I can tell you that my daughter works for a law firm in Chicago where they are all good Democrats. The partners at her firm watch the show.

13. NYC gives lots of breaks to shows filming on location
If the show gets more successful, there is always a chance they could do location shoots. But L.A. and NYC get most of the exteriors these days, regardless of setting.

I did notice a picture of Obama on Eli Gold's desk in tonight's episode. Plus, during a party scene at the end of tonight's episode, Alicia was introduced to two honchos from the AFL-CIO. They looked every bit the beefy union types, as one could imagine being in Chicago.

16. They can do better than that.
There are some very powerful people operating in Chicago. Some of them may be aldermen, but with clout that far exceeds that job description.

Some of them may be powerful within the Democratic party, and powerful in Springfield, but their names are not well known outside of the state. They may be the head of the party, or close to the top. They may be as powerful as Rove, but more effective, since their names are not bandied about as much as Rove's. (I believe Rove lost most of his effectiveness when his name became a household word).

Some of them are black Democrats, like Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his wife. Those two are powerful and respected in Illinois and Chicago. The show needs more black characters with power. They made a good stab at this, with the meeting in the black church during one of the recent episodes.

Also, there are still a lot of wise guys around Chicago. When do they get written into the plot? Are they ever going to talk about the mayor's office, or some of the maneuvering that applies mainly to city politics?

Everything interlocks in Chicago: local, state, and national politics. When do we get to see how they all work together in that unique, wonderful city?

I know that this show is not "The West Wing." But I keep waiting to see more.

12. I watched it until...
the storyline that turned on someone going to a kosher grocery store on a Saturday. Um. They're Orthodox Jews. They don't WORK on Saturdays.

Plus, being a lawyer, it's clear that the person writing the show has never seen the inside of a law school.

14. I missed that one
I did some research, and found out that some kosher groceries are open on Saturday, after sundown, since that is when the sabbath is over. Depends on the volume of business and the inclinations of the owners. So I will give the writers a pass on that one - a loophole. ;-)

As for the legal realism, that has never been the strong suit of legal dramas. It isn't supposed to be. The writer's job is to spin a good yarn, even at the expense of authenticity. This show follows the many conventions of its predecessors (especially the late 'Law & Order): plot twists relying on missing evidence, mistaken identities, surprise witnesses, etc. I can understand it being frustrating for someone with good inside knowledge, but for the rest of us poor saps, they don't call it "creative license" for nothing. :-)
