Does anybody remember Room 222?
Edited on Wed May-19-10 12:52 AM by BuelahWitch
I've been watching the season one DVDs through Netflix. It's been so long since I've seen this show, I don't think it was in syndication, or if so, not for long. Watching it as an adult doesn't take away any of the appreciation I had for the show when I was a kid. I still enjoy the stories, which were groundbreaking in their day. They seem so innocent and idealistic now. What's really sad for me is that the wonderful Lloyd Haines, who played history teacher Pete Dixon, died almost 25 years ago from cancer. He was such a great actor, made it all look so easy.

Edited to jog your memories...

1. I adored that show
Hopefully someday I can see it on DVD when I can scrape together the pennies. :)

6. Maybe your library will carry them
Or you can request them through interlibrary loan. I get a lot of expensive books that way which I can't afford to buy but want to read.
I will say that the video and sound quality isn't the best. Apparently they were sitting in a vault somewhere and no one bothered to do any type of restoration before the release. But I enjoyed them all the same.

2. Yes. I was just a little kid, and I would watch it if nothing else was on.
If Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck cartoons weren't on.

9. I watched that show during its original run.
I can't remember a whole lot about it, but I remember one episode where a visiting artist created a work which showed the U.S. flag going down a drain, and this created a lot of controversy at the school. I think he was vindicated at the end based on free speech.

10. I think I remember that one too
They took on some issues that were very controversial (and still are, in some cases).

11. Loved loved loved it!
I was also a young kid when it played, but it really resonated with me anyway.

Years ago my Mom was in Vegas playing blackjack and was joined at the table by Michael Constintine and David Jolif (sp?) -- the redheaded student with the afro. They got to talking and played together for hours.

I have been noticing Denise (can't rmember her last name) showing up in commercials a lot lately. It is great to see her after so many years.

13. Totally.
That whole era of TV was great.

We've been watching "Love, American Style" on Netflix.
