3. If you have some tools that you like, I'd recommend bringing them.

They'll provide hammers and what not, but it's never the same as the things you use all the time.

Also, just be prepared to work and not mess around. I did Habitat a few years ago and there were a few people there who treated it like blue collar fantasy camp, doing some work, but not taking it seriously. Just bust your ass for one day and become the star volunteer that the staff really winds up being grateful for.
