Poll question: What was John Cusak's last great film?
Or "Other", of course.

3. Other...
"High Fidelity"
Just about everything after and including "america's sweethearts" is crap.

"Identity" wasn't horrible, but it wasn't one of his greatests.

7. High Fidelity.
His best, IMO...

but I always LIKE him.

Except in "must love dogs".

He stank up the screen in that one.

16. I agree with "High Fidelity"...
.
...as an EXCEPTIONAL film for him. Gotta admit I've seen NONE of the others.
.
.
.
Jack Black has been a HUGE disappointment for me after first seeing his genius "potential" in
that movie.

20. I'm going with The Ice Harvest.
Don't know why it didn't work for others, but I liked it. Dark, strange, and almost no redeeming characters whatsoever.

"He actually threatened to shoot Gladys if I didn't tell him where the money was. But I think he was counting on a level of commitment and affection between her and me that just simply wasn't there."

"Bandits," "Matchstick Men," and "The Mexican?" I like movies like that.

25. I haven't seen any of those.
I remember The Mexican and Matchstick Men from the previews, but they didn't look much like The Ice Harvest. It was a cross between modern film noir and some of the Coen Brothers' darker works--which come to think of it are pretty much modern film noir anyway. I guess I'd compare it to "The Man Who Wasn't There," loosely. I'm not saying it was too original to compare to anything--it wasn't--I'm just lousy at comparisons. :)

33. Trick question. "Last Great Film" assumes he had a first 'Great Film'. He didn't.
Not yet, anyway.

I think he's gonna have one someday.
