Only a few things make me miss having a man around the house...
Besides the obvious, of course.

I was reminded of one of them just now mowing my lawn after two weeks of slacking. I feel like throwing up from the exertion. However, I also was reminded of the fact that I'm fully capable of doing shit for myself thankyouverymuch! :)

One of the others is shoveling the driveway, but I'll worry about that again next winter.

I also have to go by a car...damn it!

:hi:

that the obvious is not obvious?

5. I used to say I have a two-track mind: beer and food.
When someone inevitably asked about sex, I would respond, "that falls under food".

6. bugs
I know have to deal with getting bugs (usually spiders) out of the house. yuck.

A clogged shower or even changing a tire - sigh....

However I went to visit my ex yesterday and guess what?! I'd rather deal with the spiders or clogged shower on my own. lol
He's not a bad guy, we just aren't meant to be together.

8. Meh, bugs I don't mind
My ex wasn't very handy anyway, so I did most of the unclogging and fixing.

He's not a bad guy either. I know what you are saying.

14. i never understood the shoveling the driveway. i lived alone forever and never shoveled
the sun eventually melted it. lol

hubby shovels. i help him sometimes..... but

though it makes it a tad easier, not easier enough to encourage shoveling on my own

17. Here in Denver, if you don't shovel within 24 hours after the snow stops falling
you can end up with a hefty fine! They even have hotlines so you can narc off your neighbor for not shoveling.

But winters here rarely see sun. I get stuck up my tiny driveway if I leave it too long.

I'm tempted to bite the bullet and hire someone next year.

47. Exactly!
I couldn't believe how many young men don't know how to do things around the house. If I ever get hitched again, will have to be for money or cuz the guy is a master electrician, plumber, carpenter, landscaper and mechanic rolled into one.

I myself am a great cook, terrific housekeeper and excellent with finances.

I have one around the house. I still do everything anyway. Seriously--I do. Mowing and all other yardwork included. And moving boxes. And painting the house. And everything else.

Hey, BNL--good to see you! :hi:

40. Believe me. Barenakedlady,
After a while you will wonder why you ever thought you needed a man around the house, especially one who is not especially "handy"

I have lived alone for 13 years ( this time) and I would not change it for anything, I do not share my computer , tv or stereo .

I eat when I am hungry , go to bed when I want to , and get up the same way. Some days I read all day long and don't cook one morsel of food.

Mowing , shovelling snow, repairs etc continues to be a pain in the ass but we learn to cope.

It helps to have sons. They come in real handy for things like fixing faucets shovelling stuff.

I should really start teaching him how to run the mower! LOL.

I hear you about the rest. Though my kids are still at the end of the needy ages, so when I have them, I have to share...and cook, etc. Heh.

I should start saving up for a snow blower!
