6. The last time I went to the DMV it was a TRIP.
You've never seen more kinds of people in one place. Struck up several very entertaining conversations. Got the "corrective lenses" thing removed from my license...my eyes corrected themselves, believe it or not, and I passed the eye test with flying colors. Maybe the next time I have to go to renew in person it won;t be as memorable or enjoyable. But this last time was actually fun.

11. I love going to the dentist! If I had the money, I'd go...
every three months instead of six. Plus, he's a nice guy. :)

12. PennDOT is painless. Usually in and out in less than 10 minutes.
You go to the information booth or sometimes a small booth out front is open. Either way you say what you're there for and get a small slip with a letter and a number. The letter has to do with what you're there for and the number is your position in the queue for that letter. It has a time estimate based on how many are ahead of you, the day of the week, and the time of day. It is pretty damn accurate and usually between 1 and 6 minutes. A big board shows the most recently called 3 tickets and an electronic voice calls out each one and which window as it is added. The windows have their position posted above them. That's efficient!

I remember spending hours in line in Maryland (late 70's, early 80's) and about the same in NH (90's). Usually, after waiting for a really long time, the only value from that wait was finding out that you had to stand in a DIFFERENT line to pick up a form, fill it out and then get back in the ORIGINAL line again.

13. I had to vote Dentist
because due to vision I don't drive anymore

AND
the Dental Hygenist where I go looks eerily like Orly Tates. SERIOUSLY!

Iknow, I know whenever Orly is involved, eerily is a given.

14. The DMV. The dentist gives me Novocain to numb the pain in my mouth. The DMV just gives me a pain in
the ass.
